No. 15: Isaac Bonga

When the Lakers drafted Isaac Bonga with the 39th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, most believed he would spend at least one more year developing his game in Europe.

In a surprising turn of events, the Lakers signed the 18-year-old guard from Germany before the start of Summer League. He averaged nine minutes per game in Las Vegas, averaging 2.1 points and 1.0 rebounds.

Bonga might not see one minute of regular season action, and will likely spend his year with the South Bay Lakers. With the Lakers recently signing Travis Wear to a two-way contract, Bonga is the most likely candidate to give up his bench spot if Wear is called up.

Still, signing Bonga to a cheaper rookie deal will allow the Los Angeles Lakers to develop him in their own backyard.
