Indiana Pacers: 3 takeaways from the 2018 offseason
1. New additions should fit right in
The Pacers were not ones to sit idly by during the free agency period, bringing in a few veterans who will surely be able to play big minutes throughout the season.
Doug McDermott is a sweet-shooting wing player capable of knocking down shots out of many situations and who’s shown improvements on the defensive end.
Kyle O’Quinn was a great spark plug for the New York Knicks this past season as a guy who enters the game and contributes with his energy and hustle on both ends of the court.
Then there’s Tyreke Evans, who had a resurgent season with the Memphis Grizzlies where he averaged 19.4 points, 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Indiana’s bench ranked 21st in scoring, 18th in assists and 13th in rebounds last year. Needless to say, their second unit needed some help.
With three players who all provide vastly different skill-sets, the Pacers should see an increase in those numbers this season, and with that, another step is taken toward the Eastern Conference crown.
