3. Aaron Holiday is a nice piece

With the 21st pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Pacers selected point guard Aaron Holiday out of UCLA.

The younger brother of NBA players Jrue and Justin Holiday, Aaron played well in 33 games as a junior, averaging 20.3 points and 5.8 assists per contest.

In Summer League, he played just as well, putting up 14.5 points, 6.8 assists and 2.8 steals per game, showcasing an impressive blend of scoring, playmaking and defensive prowess.

The Pacers currently have two veteran point guards on their roster in Darren Collison and Cory Joseph, both of whom played key roles in the team’s success in 2018 and who will surely be higher on the pecking order than Holiday.

However, neither is signed past this season, leaving the door open for someone to take their minutes.

If Holiday can show promise in limited minutes as a rookie, then it’s possible coach Nate McMillan will have no problem handing him the reins as Indiana’s point guard of the future.
