According to multiple reports, Carmelo Anthony is expected to officially sign with the Houston Rockets upon clearing waivers. Here are three reasons why the 10-time All-Star makes for a good fit in Clutch City.

Despite failing to move at a swift pace throughout the opening period of free agency, the Houston Rockets are finally expected to make their biggest splash yet within the coming days, as a long-winded rumor appears to be all but a foregone conclusion at this point.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, Carmelo Anthony is expected to sign a one-year, $2.4 million deal with the franchise upon clearing waivers to become an unrestricted free agent.

Anthony — whose name was directly linked to Houston throughout the last offseason — averaged 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game through 78 contests last year as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, prior to being shipped to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team trade two weeks ago. The former Syracuse star was awaiting his release via buyout to join his third straight team in the last three seasons.

Can the 34-year-old forward who was once hailed as one of the top scorers in the game silence his critics in Houston? Here are three reasons why Melo makes for a good fit in Clutch City.
