The 2018 offseason has been a busy one for the Chicago Bulls. Let’s take a look at the three biggest takeaways from the summer.

Following a 55-loss season, the Chicago Bulls entered the 2018 offseason with some significant questions. Could they swing a draft day trade to move up for a high-profile rookie? Would Zach LaVine return to the Windy City, and what would his salary demands be? Should the Bulls sign any significant free agents this summer?

While they didn’t pull off another blockbuster trade on draft night, their patience seemingly will be rewarded. With the seventh pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Bulls nabbed Wendell Carter Jr. from Duke. Carter grabbed NBA Summer League headlines with his defensive dominance and smooth play on offense. The Bulls also drafted Chandler Hutchison out of Boise State with the 22nd overall selection. Hutchison should add depth to the rotation at small forward.

The Bulls matched the Sacramento Kings’ offer sheet to LaVine in early July. LaVine signed a four-year, $78 million deal that will keep him in the Windy City for the foreseeable future.

Finally, the Bulls inked former Milwaukee Buck and hometown legend Jabari Parker to a two-year contract. Parker, coming off two ACL injuries while with the Bucks, he should add a much-needed scoring punch for the Bulls if he can get back to 100 percent health.

Bearing all this in mind, here’s a look at three takeaways from the Chicago Bulls’ 2018 offseason.
