3. Stay humble and make the right headlines

So far, so good.

Allen has spoken to the media a few times, as is expected for a first round pick. Fortunately for him and the Jazz, he hasn’t made any headlines.

Sure, he’s had some impressive plays like the one linked in the previous slide, but he hasn’t made any outlandish or silly claims. If he did, it would destroy his case for what is already a shaky foundation reputation-wise.

This isn’t mentioned to suggest there are any issues with Allen’s character on the legal side of things (besides the aforementioned tripping incidents), but so far he just seems like he wants to play hard for the Jazz and take them to the next level.

That’s exactly the type of player and person head coach Quin Snyder and general manager Dennis Lindsey covet, and it seems like they’ve found that (again) in Allen.
