1. What happens with Deyonta Davis and Ben McLemore?

When the Kings traded Garrett Temple to the Memphis Grizzlies for Deyonta Davis and Ben McLemore on July 17, the popular assumption was that Davis and McLemore would be waived.

Almost a week after the trade, there’s no indication of the two players being waived for the moment. Perhaps the Kings will go into training camp with both players and give them a chance to prove themselves.

Davis is the big mystery in this equation. The 21-year-old only averaged 12.1 minutes per game in his two seasons in Memphis and hasn’t really had a chance to prove himself yet.

McLemore, on the other hand, played four seasons in his previous stint in Sacramento. He proved himself as a great locker room guy, but his performance on the court wasn’t pretty. As he enters his sixth season in the NBA, nobody knows if McLemore will have anything new to show. Are the Kings willing to steal minutes from the younger players to give McLemore a second chance? We’ll soon find out.
