 3. It’s not time to rebuild

Everyone thought that after finishing 14th in the Western Conference, it was time to rebuild. Mike Conley is getting older, Chandler Parsons hasn’t been healthy in forever, and Marc Gasol isn’t getting any younger. The Grizzlies core is aging and the West is getting stronger by the day. The Grizzlies have decided against rebuilding and are determined to keep the core together.

The Grizzlies signed ex-Spur Kyle Anderson to a four-year, $37.2 million deal, which means he will be replacing Tyreke Evans, who signed a one-year, $12 million deal with the Indiana Pacers.

Anderson is an intriguing player who played well under coach Gregg Popovich’s tutelage. He’s only 24 years old, so he fits the mold of a Grizzlies team that’s getting younger each year with his abilities as a point forward.

Although they are currently strapped for the salary cap, the Grizzlies made a move they feel will put them over the top in making it back to the playoffs. On the surface, this deal seems like an overpay, but Kyle Anderson is coming from a talented Spurs squad and will bring everything he learned to this young team. He will either be a solid starter or a great sixth man, either of which could be a great result for the Grizzlies.
