The Memphis Grizzlies didn’t make a splashy signing in 2018 NBA free agency, but how will they fare in the 2018-19 season?

The Memphis Grizzlies finished last season with a 22-60 last season. Fortunately, the Grizzlies were able to secure the fourth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, selecting forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. out of Michigan State.

Last year, injuries sapped another season that could have been fruitful for this feisty Grizzlies squad. Mike Conley and Chandler Parsons, who were both slotted to be in the starting five, missed a majority of the season due to nagging injuries. This forced the Grizz to give the younger players extended minutes, which caused the drop-off in play due to their inexperience.

Despite injuries hampering the team, Memphis fought hard every night. It brought in MarShon Brooks from China and he was a sight for sore eyes on a team that lacked a scoring punch. Finishing 22-60 should not worry Grizzlies fans, because with a completely healthy squad, this team is fighting for a playoff spot.

During the season, the Grizzlies brass thought it was best to move on from head coach David Fizdale, entrusting the team to assistant and now head coach J.B Bickerstaff.  It remains to be seen what Bickerstaff and co. can do with a full season under their belt and a roster built to his liking. To sort it all out, here are three takeaways from the 2018 offseason.
