Dwyane Wade: 5 potential landing spots in 2018 NBA free agency
By KC Whitten
1. Retirement
Dwyane Wade has nothing left to prove. His list of accolades are too long to actually list, and he has left a solid legacy in the NBA. He will be 37 years old in January, and he could decide it’s time to hang up his jersey and retire.
Sure, he could make another $25 million in China, but it would require him to spend months away from his family. His 16-year-old son Zaire is one of the most highly sought after prospects in the country. If Wade decides to play in China, he won’t be around to watch his son until his sophomore year in college, or potentially his first year in the NBA.
If he does choose to retire, he could follow in the footsteps of former NBA stars and work in television. He was a guest analyst for ABC during their coverage of the 2015 NBA Finals, and has stated he would be interested in a career in television “if it was right and made sense” for him.

Surely, Wade will make the best decision for himself and his family. No matter which choice he makes, he’s made his mark on the game of basketball, and enjoyed one of the best careers in the history of the NBA.
