2. Zhejiang Golden Bulls

Years ago it was almost unfathomable for star NBA players to leave the league in the twilight of their career to go play basketball in China. However, in recent years the trend has been reversed. Due to the current salary cap situation, and franchises wanting to rebuild instead of signing players on the decline to barely make the playoffs, many NBA stars are ending their careers overseas.

If Wade is looking for a long-term contract, his only option at this point is to take his talents to China. ESPN is reporting that he received a three-year, $25 million offer to join the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Chinese Basketball Association.

This is the best offer he’s received thus far from either an NBA or CBA club, but he may have another reason to finish his career in Zhejiang. Wade just inked a lifetime deal with Chinese apparel company Li-Ning. He’s represented the company since 2012, but you have to wonder if part of the negotiations included him finishing his career as the face of the company in the CBA.

While playing in the CBA isn’t as glamorous or mainstream as the NBA, it looks to be his best option financially. Yet, with an estimated net worth of $95 million, the next option might be more enticing.
