The Washington Wizards had a busy offseason as they made numerous moves to fix the roster. They didn’t get younger, but veteran depth should improve things.

The Washington Wizards were busy this offseason making moves. They got rid of Marcin Gortat, trading him to the Los Angeles Clippers for Austin Rivers. It marks the end of an era for Gortat, but shows the Wizards are putting more stock in their backcourt at the same time.

In the 2018 NBA Draft, they acquired Troy Brown Jr., much to the chagrin of fans. Brown was a mystery pick on the surface, but after his performance in NBA Summer League, he could become a contributor right away, which would mean a great deal for Washington. The team struggled last season with depth in the frontcourt. Brown’s versatility could prove useful in a small-ball lineup.

On the interior, the Wizards also went out in free agency and acquired two experienced veterans in the frontcourt. Jeff Green makes his return to the nation’s capital on a one-year deal, along with Dwight Howard. Howard finds himself on another team after just one season with the Charlotte Hornets.

All in all, it’s been an interesting offseason for the Washington Wizards to say the least. They claim the issue with egos is gone, but for how long? Bearing all this in mind, here’s a look at three takeaways from the offseason.
