6. Two returning All-Stars (and the coach)

The 2018 All-Star weekend featured two Toronto Raptors representatives and their head coach as well. Because of the new selection process for who would be competing against whom, it was Team LeBron vs. Team Curry (the highest voted All-Stars from each respected conferences).

Toronto was represented on both sides of the court in multiple facets. DeMar DeRozan was a chosen starter for Team Curry with his teammate and best bud, Kyle Lowry, being selected to play on Team Curry as well. What made the game interesting is Raptors coach Dwane Casey was behind Team LeBron’s selected squad, orchestrating against his two best players.

Lowry further represented the Raptors in the 3-Point Contest to prove the previous season’s competition bust was due to his wrist injury. Even though his score had improved, he was not victorious in the competition. All-Star Weekend meant a lot to DeMar DeRozan, for the location of the weekend long event was in his hometown Los Angeles where many of his childhood dreams and memories were to play in the association with all the brightest stars around him watching.

The team was first in the conference, had two All-Stars, an All-Star head coach, and one of those All-Stars was a starter in the game. All in all, it made for one great weekend for the Toronto Raptors organization.
