1. Nick Nurse could reshape the Raptors’ future

While Dwane Casey was at the helm, the Raptors’ approach to building their roster was focused mainly on building vital role players around backcourt stars DeRozan and Kyle Lowry, many of whom were still very young.

Nick Nurse plans to emphasize developing that young talent, which could save the Raptors from falling off in the next few years no matter what happens with Kawhi Leonard next summer.

The NBA is growing as a whole, meaning that every team is adding yearly talent to be competitive. Simply put, their end results in the past few years with their roster just won’t get it done. They must devise a new strategy which can help get them over the hump, and it all starts with investing in the future.
