Glenn Robinson III: 2 years, $8.3 million (Detroit Pistons)

We’re not used to the Detroit Pistons making moves that don’t immediately blow up in their face, but with Stan Van Gundy gone, we’ll just have to get used to it. Glenn Robinson III isn’t a name that was on a lot of people’s radars, but he’s a sneaky good pickup for a team in need to shooting and has little proven talent on the wing (no offense, Stanley Johnson).

Last season in Indiana, GRIII was hampered by injury, appearing in only 23 games and averaging just 4.1 points in 14.7 minutes per game. However, even in a limited sample size, he’s canned 41.2 percent, 39.2 percent and 37.8 percent of his 3s over the last three years, improving his efficiency with each passing season. With his length and size, Robinson is worth taking a short-term risk on.

The best part is, this team- and player-friendly deal doesn’t push the Pistons into the luxury tax, with room to spare in order to sign the team’s second round draft picks, Khyri Thomas and Bruce Brown Jr., per ESPN‘s Bobby Marks.
