Torrey Craig: 2 years, $4 million (Denver Nuggets)
The Denver Nuggets need wing depth. Torrey Craig is a wing. Torrey Craig is cheap. That’s pretty much all you need to know about why the Denver Nuggets are bringing back Torrey Craig.
In 39 games and five starts in the Mile High City last year, the undrafted USC Upstate product from 2014 finally caught his break after grinding away for years in the G League. He averaged 4.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in his 16.1 minutes per game with the Nuggets.
Craig only shot 29.3 percent from the 3-point range, but he’s a terrific athlete and with Wilson Chandler on the way out, the Nuggets needed help at this position. On such a small contract, this is a predictable insurance play.
