Monte Morris: 3 years, $4.8 million (Denver Nuggets)

Given the risk associated with backup point guard Isaiah Thomas, keeping Monte Morris around makes sense for the Denver Nuggets, whose roster now appears to be set for 2018-19 with 15 players.

Morris may have only played in three games for the Nuggets last year, but he posted 17.8 points, 6.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game in the G League, and impressed again in NBA Summer League with 17.5 points, 6.3 assists and 3.3 boards per game.

If things go south with IT or injury strikes again, the younger Morris could be worth a look. With only the first two years guaranteed and a minimal amount of money being committed, this is a good move for backcourt depth.
