Jabari Bird: 2 years, $2.9 million (Boston Celtics)

After spending his rookie season on a two-way contract, former second round pick Jabari Bird proved his worth and earned a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics. Though he only played in 13 games for the Cs last year, his Summer League performance earned him a chance at a real NBA contract.

In four games in Las Vegas, Bird posted 16.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor.

Though he’ll have a hard time cracking the crowded wing rotation of an Eastern Conference contender, the 24-year-old Bird more than earned his chance to carve out minues at the NBA level, and this is a solid long-term investment by the Celtics to examine him more closely for the next two years.
