1. Paul George was committed to OKC all along

Paul George did not wait to sign with the OKC Thunder. He made the announcement to OKC Thunder fans on a stage at a party as soon as free agency started. It was said that Paul George would go to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer. He did not even meet with the Lakers before signing with the Thunder.

George had an All-Star season with OKC and while there were times things did not go right, he felt comfortable with his relationship with Russell Westbrook and decided to re-sign. With Paul George back for the long haul, the Thunder will be relevant for years to come.

While the West is crowded now with LeBron James, who still claims the right to be called the best player in the world, the Thunder have the offensive and defensive capability to still be in the top four.

The Thunder’s backcourt and wing starting lineup of Westbrook, Andre Roberson and George can play offense (excluding Roberson) and defense at a high level.
