Shortly after the departure of Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute, the Houston Rockets signed forward James Ennis to a two-year deal.

After failing to move at a swift pace during the opening days of free agency, general manager Daryl Morey and the Houston Rockets responded by adding a new piece to their roster, signing  forward James Ennis to a two-year, $4.3 million deal this past week.

More from Hoops Habit

Ennis — who is set to join his fifth organization in his five-year career — averaged 7.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game through 72 outings with the Memphis Grizzlies and Detroit Pistons last season, while shooting 47.4 percent from the field.

The second-round pick from the 2013 NBA Draft has worked diligently to become a player who is capable of providing his respective teams with valuable minutes when called upon.

Through six games in the 2017 NBA Playoffs, Ennis posted 11.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per 36 minutes for the Grizzlies and shot 42.1 percent against the San Antonio Spurs as the man who was called upon to spot Chandler Parsons in the starting lineup in Memphis.

Ennis will now be asked to help the Rockets overcome the losses of Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute this coming season.
