4. Svi Mykhailiuk could carve out significant role

Arguably the biggest surprise to come out of Summer League for the Lakers was the play of Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk. The 47th overall pick in the draft played exceptionally well, earning himself a contract as well as a spot on the 2018 NBA All-Summer League Second Team.

Known as a shooter in college, Svi took 49 3-pointers in seven Summer League games, connecting on 20 of them (40.8 percent).

His shooting ability was to be expected, but his overall offensive craftiness was on full display in Las Vegas.

While it’s rare for a second round pick to play significant minutes during his rookie season, Svi could be an exception. His strong Summer League play may have opened the door for some playing time during the season.

He probably won’t be playing a ton a minutes to begin the season, but if Svi can knock down 3-pointers with some consistency, he could find himself on the floor with LeBron James quite frequently.
