Wing depth

Looking at the Clippers’ depth chart, question marks pop up left and right when assessing their forward spots, Tobias Harris notwithstanding. Danilo Gallinari has played in 196 of 328 games since the 2014-15 season. Wesley Johnson hasn’t shown much of anything since being a top-five pick back in 2010.

Mike Scott is best in spurts. Sam Dekker is inconsistent. The Clippers simply don’t have that many options when it comes to the 3 and 4.

Mbah a Moute may not be the Kawhi Leonard that Clippers fans were dreaming of, but he’s a dependable rotation piece capable of playing big minutes.

Doc Rivers is a veteran’s coach. He doesn’t like nurturing young guys. He wants players he can trust in big moments. A 10-year veteran with five trips to the playoffs, Mbah a Moute can provide stability at a position that appears anything but for the Clippers.
