Hands: Will Bynum

Hands as in “handles,” as in ball-handling ability, as in … why not Allen Iverson or Isiah Thomas here?

I went with Will Bynum because I’ve heard too many stories about the kid who grew up in Chicago with a basketball attached to his hip that became arguably the coldest dribbling machine in Midwest.

As a kid, Bynum would dribble while walking to school along gravel roads and cracked pavement, training himself to adapt to the unpredictable bouncing ball.

Bynum’s NBA career may not have been remarkable. Of his eight seasons in the league, his best year came with the Pistons in 2009-10, when he averaged 10.0 points and 4.5 assists per game as a part-time starter.

But ask about him on the playgrounds of Chicago, where he is a legend whose handle is as slick as anyone that city has ever seen — including Isiah.
