With little money to spend in free agency and few attractive assets to trade, the Detroit Pistons’ best bet might be to create the ideal player from used parts.

The Detroit Pistons could be one difference-making player away from being a real contender in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.

But given that the team is a few coins shy of the league’s luxury tax limit and doesn’t have a lot to offer in terms of a blockbuster trade, the answer may be to find a Motor City garage and create that player out of the spare parts from the franchise’s past.

Imagine the Pistons acquiring somebody with Chauncey Billupsclutch gene, Dennis Rodman‘s defense and Rip Hamilton’s stamina? Imagine if those were just a few strong points of that player’s skill-set?
