It’s not too early to predict who the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2018-19 starters will be and what the depth chart will look like, is it? Good, then let’s get to it.

The Los Angeles Lakers‘ roster is nearly set. With only the $4.5 million room exception at their disposal, it looks like their spending spree is almost over. It’s been a fun offseason, but it’s time to start looking towards the future and the 2018-19 NBA season.

Honestly, the regular season is still too far away to get into crazy predictions about the eventual outcome for the Lakers in 2018-19. Give me at least another couple of weeks before we down that rabbit hole. For now, I want to take it slow and steady. Now that NBA Summer League is over, it seems logical to try and sleuth what the Lakers’ roster could look like this upcoming season.

That’s not too aggressive, right? Just taking a gander at who’s currently under contract and using logic to create a window into the future. Through said window, we attempt to see who Los Angeles’ starters will be and what the overall depth chart could look like.

It may seem early, but this isn’t the NFL. There aren’t 90 names to sift through when training camp gets under way. Instead, there are only 20, with 15 roster spots available (13 active on game days). Essentially, that means weeding out only five guys. Sounds easy enough.

So without further ado, let me run down my predictions for the Lakers’ 2018-19 starting lineup as well as the rest of the depth chart. We’re all on the edges of our seats now that LeBron James is wearing purple and gold, but the regular season is still months away.

For now, just enjoy the speculation.
