Denver Nuggets: How will Isaiah Thomas fit in next year?
Last season
Following a trade from Boston to Cleveland last offseason, Thomas attempted to quickly work his way back from injury in order to restore his value before he became a free agent this summer.
Thomas returned fairly early, in January to be exact, but it was clear that he just didn’t have the same type of quickness and explosion he had the season prior, averaging just 14.7 points per game on 36.1 percent shooting.

It didn’t help that throughout his time with the Cavs, he was constantly providing reporters with juicy sound bites that would be dissected the following day.
With the Cavaliers spiraling out of control, general manager Koby Altman shipped Thomas to the Lakers, where he would fare slightly better with 15.6 points per game on 38.3 percent shooting.
Assuming he’s fully recovered from his hip injury, which IT declared himself in a tweet in May, there’s no reason he can’t find success in Denver. He’s still only 29 years old.
IT may not be able to perform at the level that made him an MVP candidate, but a healthy body should allow him to perform better than what he put out this past season.
