Isaiah Thomas’s value may have sunken some, but he’s a great fit for a Denver Nuggets squad looking to assert themselves out West.

By bringing in Isaiah Thomas, the Denver Nuggets have added tremendous value on the cheap, at $2 million over one year.

After just missing the playoffs in game 82, Denver is looking to qualify for the postseason for the first time since 2013.

IT’s rise and fall has been well documented, finishing fifth in MVP voting for the Boston Celtics in 2016-17 following a playoff run on an injured hip and a heavy heart after the death of his sister.

Then, after a heart-breaking trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Thomas attempted to rush back from his injury but wasn’t the same, and with another trade to the Los Angeles Lakers at the deadline, his value had seemingly decreased entirely.

Now in Denver, Isaiah has the chance to rebuild his image by helping the Nuggets get back to the postseason. In a low-pressure environment, Thomas should thrive as the sixth man for a squad loaded with talent at every position.

If head coach Mike Malone — a former coach of IT with the Sacramento Kings — can figure out what set of teammates play best with the 5’9” dynamo, that acquisition could become the steal of the 2018 offseason by this time next summer.
