7. Wendell Carter Jr., Chicago Bulls

The future looks to be a bit brighter for the Chicago Bulls with Wendell Carter Jr. in the paint. Carter should be a solid frontcourt presence alongside Lauri Markkanen in the Bulls’ starting rotation in 2018-19.

He averaged 14.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.6 steals per contest through five appearances during Summer League, earning All-Summer League First Team honors. The versatile 6’10” big man shot 55 percent from the field, but just 2-of-7 (28.6 percent) from the 3-point arc.

Still, Carter established himself as a presence in the paint, something he’ll need to do a lot of with Markkanen on the floor next season. He put up 16 points, nine rebounds and five blocks in his debut against the Cleveland Cavaliers in a victory.

He hasn’t unleashed the 3-point shot just yet, but he’s shown he can knock that down too. He’ll be looked upon to do that and then some for the Bulls next season as a rookie.
