1. Furkan Korkmaz looks ready for regular minutes

Furkan Korkmaz looks like a player that’s ready for NBA minutes next season for the Sixers. He hit the ground running in Philadelphia’s first game of Summer League against the Boston Celtics. The second-year forward poured in 40 points on 10-of-18 shooting (55.6 percent), including 8-of-10 shooting from 3-point range, albeit in a 95-89 loss.

Korkmaz showed both the good and bad of his ability. He didn’t make a field goal against the Washington Wizards, going 0-for-9 in an 87-75 defeat on July 9. Despite the shooting woes, Korkmaz finished Summer League putting up 16.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest.

He appeared in 14 games during the regular season for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2017-18. That’s a number that’s sure to change after his play in Vegas.

With Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova gone, he could emerge as their next 3-point threat in 2018-19. He should be given more opportunities to show what he can in the near future.
