The Philadelphia 76ers played their final Summer League game on Sunday night and there were plenty of takeaways from their performance.

The Philadelphia 76ers finished 2-4 in 2018 NBA Summer League play out in Las Vegas, but the emergence of Furkan Korkmaz stole the show. Markelle Fultz didn’t suit up as he continues through his rehab process but Korkmaz took fans’ minds off of Fultz for the time being.

Granted, it’s Summer League. If a player does well, we’re all for it. If a player performs poorly, we’re left wondering if a different pick would have sufficed, but in either case, moderate reactions and tempered expectations are a good idea.

Korkmaz opened Summer League play with a 40-point game. On Sunday, the Sixers nearly defeated fourth overall pick Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Memphis Grizzlies in the Summer League tournament quarterfinals, losing 82-73. In short, Furkan Korkmaz is on the rise.

Korkmaz wasn’t the only player to stand out either, as 2018 first round draft selection Zhaire Smith showed flashes of what he can do. The do-it-all forward will have plenty of opportunities before the regular season to prove himself.

Big man Jonah Bolden turned heads with his performance since returning from a stint overseas. Bolden, along with long shot Isaiah Miles, both made a case for spots on the 2018-19 roster, though there may not be any available. Even then, the Philadelphia 76ers still have two-way contracts available for two players. With so much to consider, here’s a look at five takeaways from Summer League for the Sixers.
