The Cleveland Cavaliers and Channing Frye have agreed to a one-year contract worth $2.4 million, bringing him back to The Land for another season.
The 35-year-old power forward has agreed to a veteran minimum contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, meaning he will spend yet another season with the team that earned him his NBA championship.
The Cavaliers traded for Channing Frye back in 2016, when he averaged 7.5 points along with 3.6 rebounds per game in about 17 minutes of action. He helped the Cavaliers prevent the Golden State Warriors from repeating in the 2016 NBA Finals, as Cleveland managed to overcome a 3-1 deficit and beat the reigning NBA champions.
Last season, Frye was included in the deal that sent him along with Isaiah Thomas to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson. But Frye found his way back to Cleveland, a team which he appears to have a lot of love for.
