The Chicago Bulls’ time in the 2018 NBA Summer League ended Saturday, but in those four games came hope for a better future in the coming years.

The 2018 NBA Summer League playoffs didn’t last very long for the Chicago Bulls, losing to the Detroit Pistons by a final score of 72-66 on Saturday.

Heading into Summer League, the Bulls were headlined by the seventh overall pick in this past June’s draft, Wendell Carter Jr. Like every Summer League roster, though, Chicago had plenty of other talented players, all with their own unique backgrounds.

Currently on a two-way contract with the Bulls, Antonio Blakeney‘s performance over this five-game stretch may have been enough to catch the attention of some of the higher-ups within Chicago’s front office.

Taken with the 22nd overall pick in the 2018 Draft, Chandler Hutchison showed why he deserved to be taken in the first round.

They may not be holding up the championship trophy, but for Bulls fans everywhere, there were encouraging — and one negative — signs that could hopefully translate to the actual NBA squad next season and in the years ahead.
