The Charlotte Hornets wrapped up their 2018 Summer League run with an overtime loss to the Toronto Raptors. Here are five takeaways from their time in Las Vegas.

The Charlotte Hornets had a promising 2018 NBA Summer League roster poised to make a run at the not-so-coveted Summer League Championship until some of their key players got hurt.

The Hornets went into Summer League with 2017 lottery pick Malik Monk and 2018 lottery pick Miles Bridges leading the way. They also had young, exciting players like Willy Hernangomez, J.P. Macura, Dwayne Bacon and Devonte’ Graham.

Monk and Graham would end up not finishing the Summer League due to injuries. Monk’s injury doesn’t seem to be too severe and Graham’s is a bit of a mystery. However, players like Bacon and Bridges took advantage of the extra touches and thrived in the 2018 NBA Summer League.

The Hornets managed to put together a winning record in Summer League, finishing 3-2 in their five games. As we all know though, the wins and losses don’t really matter. It’s all about who showed what they can bring to the team when it comes time for the real games. With that being said, here are five takeaways from the Charlotte Hornets’ Summer League run.
