3. Thomas Bryant emerges as an athletic big in the making

Big man Thomas Bryant showed Washington Wizards’ fans what to expect when given a chance. Bryant was recently acquired by the Wizards off waivers after a stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a solid set of games in Summer League for Washington.

He posted a double-double (16 points and 12 rebounds) in his debut with his new Summer League team. They won the game, 87-75, over the Philadelphia 76ers as he went 5-of-11 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the free throw line.

Bryant averaged 15.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks while shooting 59 percent from the field through three games. He has shown the ability to shoot the 3-pointer, but during Summer League he was 0-for-5 through his three appearances with the Wizards.

The 6’10” big man went off for 26 points (10-of-13 shooting) along with seven rebounds and three blocks in a losing effort in the final game of the summer. He showed flashes of the athletic big John Wall spoke of needing. Bryant showed a little bit of everything in his appearances in the Washington rotation. He’ll be on contract for the 2018-19 season barring trade or injury.
