Here are the biggest takeaways for the New York Knicks’ time in the 2018 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

The New York Knicks wrapped up their 2018 NBA Summer League play in Las Vegas on a high note, blowing out the New Orleans Pelicans 102-83 in their fifth and final game. The team finished 2-3.

At Summer League, wins and losses are the near the bottom of the list of importance. While winning the games is nice, they are glorified pickup and exhibition games. Getting to see the young players in an NBA environment for the first time is what gets fans excited and in the seats. For Knicks fans, that meant seeing Kevin Knox and Mitchell Robinson, their 2018 NBA Draft selections, in action.

This year was the first time since 2015 that the Knicks took part in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. In previous years, they had participated in the now defunct Orlando Summer League. This was the first time that all 30 NBA teams took part in the Las Vegas league, meaning there was some great competition.

The Knicks were competitive in all of their games except one. The Los Angeles Lakers blew them out, 109-92, in their third game of the preliminary round. New York did have some injuries that caused some lineup changes to occur throughout the tournament, taking away what little continuity they were able to develop.

Despite that, there were plenty of things to take away from the five games played in Sin City, both positive and negative. Here are five of the biggest takeaways from the 2018 Las Vegas Summer League for the Knicks.
