2. Can shoot 3s and finish in transition

Despite shooting over 40 percent from beyond the arc just once in his career, Ennis’ offensive game appears to be a perfect fit in Houston.

It’s a system in which Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni urges players to let shots fly from 3-point range and generate high-percentage layups/dunks inside. The former Long Beach State star is a player who can do both things fairly well.

Prior to being traded to the Pistons last season, Ennis proved to be a player who is capable of helping his team spread the floor, shooting 35.7 percent from downtown through 45 games with the Grizzlies.

Ennis also converted on his looks from long range in catch-and-shoot situations, shooting 35.3 percent from the field during the 2017-18 regular season. He has the ability to hit big-time shots and make plays out in transition via slashing and cutting towards the paint.

This is a spot on the floor where the athletic wing has been known to slam down filthy jams.

In spite of suffering a slight drop-off shooting-wise during his time in Detroit, Ennis could become a feasible offensive threat alongside of Paul and Harden.

These two playmakers, who opposing teams will place the majority of their attention on, will likely grant the newcomer with more open looks than he has ever had in his career thus far. Ennis has all the intangibles and pieces around him to put together a career year in H-Town.
