In the midst of signing two All-Stars, the Golden State Warriors made a subtle addition with the return of center Kevon Looney.

As the two-time defending champions, the Golden State Warriors are the kings of the NBA, capable of conquering any foe that dares challenge them.

Despite their dominance, general manager Bob Myers has proven that complacency isn’t part of his DNA.

After re-signing Kevin Durant and bringing in DeMarcus Cousins, Golden State went towards a much smaller scale with its third move in free agency. The team agreed to a one-year deal worth the veteran’s minimum with Kevon Looney, per ESPN‘s Chris Haynes.

Since joining Dub Nation as the 30th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Looney has played sparingly at best, stuck behind his more capable and consistent teammates.

This past season, with the Warriors as thin as ever in the big men department, Looney saw an uptick in regular season minutes with a sizable opportunity to contribute once the playoffs rolled around.

With five All-Stars now on Golden State’s roster, Looney’s play will likely have little effect on the outcome of any one game, but his presence will be a welcomed stabilizer for a team that’s gone through a revolving door of seven-footers since KD joined the team in 2016.
