Detroit Pistons: How will Jose Calderon fit in next year?
The verdict
Given their ineptitude and questionable decision-making over the last two seasons, bringing in Jose Calderon is a high-reward move for the Pistons.
Even if Jose never touches the court, he’ll make his impact in the locker room and on the practice court, spilling the knowledge that comes with a career that’s lasted over a decade.
Should Casey find minutes for Calderon, he’ll happily enter the game and do what he can to help win games. If not, Calderon will be content to cheer for his teammates and give advice when he sees some to give.
Simply put it, Calderon is a player who’s fine in whatever role he’s given, and will always put the team above himself.

Detroit’s roster has plenty of imbalance and flaws that don’t require a microscope to see. With this acquisition, the Pistons have ever so slightly leveled the chaos within their organization, which is as good a starting point as any for a team with playoff aspirations in 2019.
