After falling from grace since leaving Orlando, Dwight Howard wants a fresh start in D.C. Here’s why this is a bad deal for the Washington Wizards.

A decade ago, Dwight Howard was one of the most popular and dominant players in the NBA. A dynamic force in the paint throughout his time in Orlando, he led the club to its second NBA Finals appearance in 2009. He led the league in All-Star voting in 2009 and 2012, and at one point was even considered to possibly have a greater legacy than LeBron James.

To say that Howard, once nicknamed Superman, has fallen from grace would be a vast understatement. After agreeing to a buyout with the New Jersey Nets, and agreeing to a one-year deal with the Washington Wizards, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year is now on his fifth team in six years.

Although he will provide a boost defensively, there are also areas of concern for Washington. Let’s take a look at three reasons signing Dwight Howard is a bad call.
