1. Lopez will make life a bit easier for the Greek Freak

The Bucks are blessed to have a superstar on the roster that goes by the name of Giannis Antetokounmpo. How good is the Greek Freak?

Well, for starters, he has increased his scoring and rebounding numbers every year he’s been in the league. Secondly, he just had his best season thus far in 2017-18, compiling averages of 26.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Let’s also throw in the fact he blocked 1.4 shots per outing as well.

Simply put, the guy can do a little bit of everything.

However, due to the lack of perimeter shooting around him, opposing defenses can key on Antetokounmpo and often try to force him to beat them with the mid-range jump shot – an element of his game that he hasn’t fully developed as of yet.

Adding a player like Lopez to the mix not only provides the Bucks with an upgrade at the center position, but his presence should also create even more scoring and playmaking opportunities for the G-Man.

How scary is that?

To hammer home the point even further, looking at this from a financial perspective, a one-year deal at $3.4 million isn’t bad by any means. Sure, Lopez isn’t a great rebounder and he isn’t the quickest big man in the NBA, either.

On the other hand, he’s a capable scorer, can stretch the floor and is an adequate rim protector, as his 1.7 blocks per outing over the course of his career would indicate.

Bearing that in mind, the Bucks are adding a quality player to the mix and they’re not breaking the bank in order to do so, making this a good move for both sides.
