The Milwaukee Bucks have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with Brook Lopez. Here’s a look at three reasons this is a good pickup.

The Milwaukee Bucks finished the 2017-18 season with a 44-38 mark, which represented the team’s highest win total dating back to the 2009-10 campaign when they won 46 games. This was good enough for the seventh-best record in the Eastern Conference, enabling the Bucks to notch their third playoff berth over the last four years.

The Bucks would be matched up against the second-seeded Boston Celtics, a series that more than likely went differently than many had predicted. Many gave the Bucks any chance of winning the series, but despite pushing the Celtics to the brink, they ultimately bowed out in seven games.

If the Bucks have any hopes of becoming a mainstay in the conference playoff race, they would need to improve upon the production they got from the middle.

Recognizing this as an area of need, the Bucks have reached an agreement with 10-year veteran Brook Lopez on a one-year deal worth approximately $3.4 million, per ESPN’s Chris Haynes.

Here’s a look at three reasons why this is a good move for the Bucks.
