How he affects the current roster

Evans’ addition gives the Indiana Pacers a nice mix of veteran and youth experience for them to contend for the Eastern Conference crown. He can come off the bench but play starter minutes, allowing for Oladipo to play the point guard role when the offense needs a boost.

In some instances, Evans can move over and play the point guard slot as well. He can also serve as the off-guard or small forward for this team in spots. His versatility at 6’6″ opens up endless possibilities in the rotation. Cory Joseph, Doug McDermott and Aaron Holiday shouldn’t find any issues with playing time, but it all depends on their trajectory as a unit.

Evans isn’t a terrible defensive player, either. The Grizzlies generated a defensive rating of 105.6 with him on the court and a rating of 110.3 when he was off the floor. On a team built for the playoffs, he’s sure to produce greater returns.
