Tyreke Evans was the Memphis Grizzlies’ biggest asset during the 2017-18 regular season. He was such an asset that the Grizzlies’ front office decided to bench him on Jan. 31 prior to the NBA Trade Deadline while exploring trade options.

Evans ended up finishing out his tenure with Memphis, averaging 19.4 points, 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per contest in 52 appearances. He started in 32 games for the Grizzlies, averaging 20.2 points, 6.3 assists and 5.2 rebounds in those games.

Whether off the bench or in the starting lineup, Evans was a model of consistency for a not-so-good Memphis squad. The Grizz went 22-60 overall, ending up in the lottery of the 2018 NBA Draft.

Despite the results, Evans shot 45.2 percent from the floor and 39.9 percent from 3-point range. He produced seven double-doubles after putting up zero in the three seasons prior. Now, he brings his versatile skill-set to the Pacers.
