How he fits

Jordan fits this team like a glove. Rebounding for the Mavericks last season was poor. They were in the bottom third in every rebounding category. They were last in the league for offensive rebounds. Jordan is one of the top two rebounders in the league. His 4.3 offensive rebounds per game are more than half the 8.1 per game the Mavericks averaged last year.

Jordan is also one of the best rim protectors in the game. He has a career average of 1.7 blocks per game but has four seasons in his career where he has averaged over 2.0 blocks per game.

Last season, the Mavericks were 29th in the league for blocked shots. His rim protection will force opposing teams to shoot lower percentage shots, giving the Mavs a better chance at winning more games.

Dallas is transitioning into a younger, faster team. Yes, it still has Nowitzki, but he is the only slower paced player. This team is going to run and gun down the court. The thought of how the fast break offense will run for this team is mouth-watering.

Not only will you have Dennis Smith Jr. who can finish spectacularly, but you have the man who made Lob City a thing in Los Angeles. Running the pick-and-roll with him and Luka Doncic is going to make him an even more dangerous rim-running threat.
