The Dallas Mavericks finally got their man after DeAndre Jordan agreed to a one-year deal. Here’s how he’ll fit with the Mavs in 2018-19.

Almost three years to the day that DeAndre Jordan backed out of his verbal agreement with the Dallas Mavericks, they finally got their man, per Marc Stein of the New York Times. There are no members left of Lob City who will pressure him to stay and play for the Los Angeles Clippers.

This is a tremendous addition for the Mavs. Jordan decided to opt out of his $21.4 million deal with the Clippers and signed on with Dallas for a similar amount. This is a stroke of genius for Dallas, which had massive cap space to play with.

If things work out next year between Jordan and the Mavs, they have just over $40 million in committed cap space for the 2019-20 season and they could lock up one of the best centers in the league for a long-term contract. As he is only 30 this July, Jordan will be a good piece to build around for years to come.

Jordan is going from a 42-win team in the Clippers to a 24-win team with the Mavericks. With that being said, his play will improve the team. Here is how he will fit with this Dallas Mavericks team.
