The verdict
Seth Curry is a good acquisition for the Portland Trail Blazers. He is an offensive upgrade from Shabazz Napier, while offering the same production defensively. His offensive versatility will allow him to seamlessly fit in lineups alongside Lillard, McCollum or even both.
There are valid injury concerns. Curry missed all of last season with left tibia problems. Even though he has been cleared to play for awhile, it’s fair to wonder if he will be exactly the same player he was in Dallas.
However, as evidenced by his career, Curry is a player that is willing to put in the work to be his best. His brother is the best shooter in the NBA and his father had a very distinguished NBA career. Yet Seth Curry has refused to coast off of that. He made his own name in the D-League then played his way into two NBA contracts with the Kings and the Mavericks.

Now, he has signed another with the Portland Trail Blazers. While letting Napier walk in free agency is a stinging loss, the organization is hoping that Curry can fill, and even improve on, his role.
