The Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to terms with combo guard Seth Curry. Is he a good fit for the current Blazers roster?

The Portland Trail Blazers held a press conference on Friday welcoming new acquisitions Nik Stauskas and sharpshooting guard Seth Curry. According to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, Curry joins the Blazers on a 1+1 deal. The contract will pay him $2.8 million the first season, while the second season is a player option.

Curry hails from NBA lineage, but his spot in the league was not handed to him. Undrafted out of Duke in 2013, Seth started his career with two All-D-League-level seasons. He earned All-League Third Team honors in 2014 and a First Team nod in 2015. He also made the D-League All-Star Game both seasons.

Curry earned his first full-time NBA contract in 2015-16 with the Sacramento Kings. He signed with the Dallas Mavericks the following season and has spent the past two seasons there. Unfortunately, his 2017-18 season was lost due to problems with his left tibia and a surgery in February to repair it. Despite the severity of his injury, he has been cleared to play for over a month.

Now, he arrives in the Pacific Northwest ready to once again make a difference for his team. What talents does he bring to Rip City? How will he fit in with the Blazers’ roster as constructed?
