With virtually no salary cap space available, here are five potential bargain free agency targets for the Miami Heat in 2018.

With the signing of LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers and DeMarcus Cousins joining the Golden State Warriors, the 2018 NBA free agency period has well and truly commenced.

Presently, the Miami Heat owe $118.7 million over just 11 players for the 2018-19 season, meaning their salary cap flexibility is virtually non-existent. This doesn’t include sharpshooter Wayne Ellington, who’s currently an unrestricted free agent after compiling a career-best season.

With little wiggle room under the cap, the Heat are going to need to get mighty creative in searching from some genuine bargain replacements who are also capable of producing at a high level.

Naturally, the departure of James to the Western Conference is a welcome sight to not only the Heat, but a host of other teams trying to break the drought in capturing the Eastern Conference crown.

As currently constituted, the Heat have just one current All-Star on the roster, with a number of players on salaries far outweighing their capabilities on the floor.

Barring any miracles occurring in terms of salary cap space, here are five bargain bin free agents the Heat should consider this summer.
