1. Off-court opportunities and family happiness
The main reason for this move making the most sense happens to be off the court. LeBron James has a budding media company in UNINTERRUPTED, is planning on being in Space Jam 2 and has aspirations of being a business mogul well after his basketball career ends. The best place to do this is Los Angeles, and the prime person to learn the transition of basketball legend to businessman extraordinaire is Magic Johnson.
This move to L.A. sets him up in the entertainment capital of the world with plenty of business enterprises to pursue. Playing for the NBA’s glamor franchise should provide him a nice boost in his personal brand with everything that comes along with playing for the Lakers, especially when you’re the best player in the world.
Outside of the business world, LeBron is bringing his family to a city with amazing weather with great opportunities for his family, and kids, to better themselves in their aspirations. His son, LeBron James Jr. (Bronny), is becoming a basketball phenom like his father was and will receive the best training while attending the best school possible to enhance his goals in athletics.
There were murmurs a while back that his wife and mother did not want to move back to Cleveland from Miami. But I could see why a lifelong Ohioan that lived in South Beach for four years would want to stay in Florida.

Now, this move to L.A. seems to be a family decision that sets up LeBron for the rest of his life for him and his family to pursue whatever they want in life. This opportunity outweighs anything the other NBA teams could offer him.
