These are the three reasons why the LeBron James agreeing to terms with the Los Angeles Lakers was the right choice in his short free agency period.

In what has been a relatively quiet offseason for one that had lofty expectations, it’s not often you see the best player in the world change threads and make a move that changes the landscape of the NBA like LeBron James‘ move from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was a year-long rumor that LeBron would relocate to the Los Angeles, and the Lakers always presented a more desirable product than their neighbors and arena mates, the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers’ roster is more talented, has multiple players to start a franchise with and obviously has the history over the Clippers as one of the most notable franchises in the world of sports.

LeBron agreed to a four-year deal (with a player option on the final year) worth $153.3 million with the Lakers on the opening day of free agency. His move from Cleveland to Los Angeles will see a non-LeBron team representing the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010 and vaults the Lakers to somewhere between the teams on the outside looking in to the non-Golden State Warriors contenders in the West.

There are a number reasons why LeBron made this move, both on and off the court, and I will do my best to narrow it down to three, beginning with the trust he developed with the Lakers front office.
